Learning for life
Over the past six years, ACT has been working with more than 20 schools in and around Edinburgh and the Borders. More than 100 pupils have been schooled in the latest hairdressing techniques. They have also been found placements in major award-winning salons.
ACT provides bespoke materials and weekly tuition to ensure pupils receive a comprehensive training in hairdressing, achieving either an SVQ Level 1 or Skills for Work Intermediate.
‘Our pupils have been enthusiastic about their hairdressing training, while the placements have been a worthwhile experience for most of the girls and have certainly enhanced the content and delivery of the course. We would like to continue offering this course as it provides a valuable vocational experience for our young people and extends the range of the curriculum on offer. Lynda McGivern’s delivery of the course has been very professional and well organised.’
