Higher National Level:
Ambition Centre for Training is one of the first independent training providers to offer Flexible Higher Level (HNC) education in Scotland. Employing the same model of collaboration pioneered by ACT in its SVQ training, the award-winning team will work closely with student and business owner to direct students through the coursework at his or her own pace rather than being forced to follow the rigid schedule offered within colleges.
Ideal for experienced individuals, it drills deep into the skills sets required to be a specialist and to be able to pass on that skill to other less experienced colleagues.
Barbering:
Ambition Centre for Training has linked up with highly respected barbers across Scotland to offer accredited barber training (SVQ Level 2 unit). The course runs for one evening a week over 20 weeks and gives trainees an opportunity to sample barbering and to brush up on their gents’ hairdressing skills.
Day-release:
Salons unable to offer practical training to their assistants can opt for day-release, with training provided in one of the ACT centres across Scotland.
Short courses:
Available to salons on their own premises or at an ACT centre, a short course will give hairdressers the opportunity to refresh their skills or develop expertise in a particular service. Short hairdressing courses include setting and dressing hair, plaiting and twisting hair, styling long hair and perming. Bespoke courses are also available on request.
